My name is Elena Leal Santiago, a Spanish artist living in Italy. ELEkeramos is my artistic project born from an ancient gesture: modeling clay with the hands.
My works emerge slowly, layer by layer, where every mark preserves memory and adds uniqueness. Sometimes I inlay or paint the surface, oscillating between figuration and abstraction, always leaving space for chance and imperfection.
I am drawn to porcelain for its openness to transformation. It absorbs the gesture, allows itself to be shaped, composed, sewn, and to dialogue with other materials—yet it never loses its own essence.
